Overview
This module is no longer open for new registrations.
Retail Management in Financial Services is aimed at those who are working, or aiming to work, as managers within a retail financial services environment, for example, a branch. You will develop your knowledge of how financial services operate specifically within the context of the wider retail environment.
The module reflects the current view that banks no longer operate in an exclusive market but compete through multiple channels, including the high street, against other financial and retail stores for a greater percentage of the consumer purse. For this reason, banks are adopting sales, service and store design techniques already widely adopted in the retail sector.
The module works at a strategic level through investigating retail concepts and theories from the whole retail sector and then applies them at an operational level to the branch network. By taking both a strategic and operational view, you will benefit from a broader understanding of branch activities in the context of organisational goals.
