Since leaving Parliament, as the MP Sheffield Hillsborough, Helen has been working with the Equal Opportunity Commission to raise awareness in government and the public about the outdated unfairness of women and pensions and working as a freelance tutor , currently with the WEA.
Jackson was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 New Year Honours for her services to the Women and Pensions Network and the community in South Yorkshire.
