Academic Governance

The ifs HE academic governance structure is kept under continuous review and operates as shown on the attached chart.

It is designed to provide clear lines of accountability for the academic responsibilities associated with the exercise of taught degree-awarding powers and is derived from best practice in the university sector, especially that in respect of specialist institutions.  Two sub-committees, one for learning and teaching, and another for academic standards and quality, report to the Academic Board, which is the supreme academic authority of the ifs School of Finance.  The academic community, including students, has full representation across the committee structure.

The HE Academic Strategy Committee monitors performance against plan and provides the necessary bridge to the Executive Committee in terms of the attaching business and financial considerations.
